Tips for a stress free Thanksgiving

ree

Thanksgiving, a time to show gratitude, spend time with family and share a meal together. Since 1863, playing football, eating a big meal and sitting on the couch for hours has been a standard American tradition. But what if I told you it's okay to change things up, it's okay to do things a little different and not follow traditions to a T and it's okay, that instead of feeling stuffed to the brim with a belly ache that you want to feel your best all while still being thankful, spending time with family and having an amazing meal. Well, guess what? It is!

Each year, I am usually the one in my family getting in a pre dinner workout, preparing the healthy balanced side dishes and having a no refined sugar dessert option. And yes! I might get a few jokes poked my way but I also get soo many compliments on the dishes I make and how they cant even tell they are "healthy", how great they feel after eating them and I almost always never have any leftover to take home.

It wasn't easy in the beginning to do things a little different than the rest of my family but now after years in the making my family knows what to expect and actually appreciates the changes. They are along for the ride with an open mind and appreciation for a healthy stress free Thanksgiving, that make them feel their best.

Here are a few ways to help prepare for a healthy stress free Thanksgiving:

Tip #1 - Move your body

Although the holidays can be busy, especially Thanksgiving with all of the cooking to be done its important to set aside time to move your body. Whether its a quick 30 minute workout in your garage, joining a fun group class early in the morning or picking up a game of flag football at my local park since there is always football on Thanksgiving. Whatever it might be prioritizing movement will help you set up the rest of the day for success and get you in the right mindspace.

Tip #2 - Explain more

The middle tips should go into a bit more detail, explain more. Keep them short and to-the-point. E.g., if you're writing a post about how to blog, you can write something like: "Decide how often you want to blog. Be realistic about it. Think you can blog twice a month? Commit to once a month and stick to it."

"Include quotes by experts in your post to add credibility." – SEO specialist

Tip #3 - Make it personal

Feel free to include personal details and examples. The more relatable you or your website is, the more you connect with your readers.

Tip #4 - Mix it up

Try different blog formats each time. One month, post a day in the life, then try a How-To or a Q&A. There are many templates to help you get started.

Tip #5 - Finish strong

Your final tip will lead into your post’s conclusion. For example, “Lastly, knowing just a little bit about SEO can go a long way in helping your blog succeed. You can learn more about SEO in our guide.” Then be sure to add a link to your guide here.

Don’t Forget to Add a Closing Statement

Keep it short. Restate your main point and tell your readers what you want them to do next. Don’t be shy. Just tell them: Buy Now, Click Here, Read This, and link to it. You can also invite them to leave a comment below your post.
